White Light

One morning...

Mike and I woke up early and went out for our weekend Frugal Luxury of...

Coffee (me) and Cocoa (Mike).


As we enjoyed our treats...

we noticed a collection of bright pink "Yard Sale" signs beckoning to us.

Unable to resist...

we stopped to investigate.

Being pragmatic, I pulled out my yard sale card (it holds my "Wishes,Wants & Needs")...

and was reminded that we were lacking a free-standing reading lamp...

in a very cramped corner...

next to the davenport...

in the Kitchen nook.

Just then, I noticed this brass lamp...

offered for a mere five dollars!

After several light coats of white spray paint (left from another project)...

it transformed into a very useful reading lamp that matched our decor.

Now, thanks to the new reading lamp...

the Kitchen nook now has a cozy corner in which we can read...

or...

work on the computer!

All for a mere five dollars.
