Welcome...we're lucky to have you!!!
To live content with small means...to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion...to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich...to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly...to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart...to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, never hurry...in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious...grow up through the common...this is to be my symphony.
---William Henry Channing
Note: Words to live by. This poignant quote touches me more now than when I used it in my first book, Frugal Luxuries, Bantam Books, NY, NY, in 1997.

Hi Audra,
Thanks so much for the kind words, as always! My goal for this week is to sort...declutter...and organize my sewing armoire. It's funny how relaxing this is...and I can implement my "movie watching technique" at the same time.

Tracey

have you ever wondered why us girls like those old spools of thread?
I too hope you are finding comfort in your loss. I know how comforting organizing a sewing area can be. May you also find comfort in His arms. Hugs and love dear friend.
Hi Dana, What a great question!! I have no idea but they absolutely make my heart go twitter~pat when I see them. Because of this my collection is far too large. The upside is that, barring the occasional age~weakened threads, most of this collection is usable!
Love,
Tracey

Carol, how right you are regarding the comfort found in organizing our sewing area. I suppose it has much to do with letting go of what we have no control over and exerting influence over those areas, however minute, that we have a bit of power.

Tracey

I love that photo! A very clever way to display beautiful colors.
I found a little poem that I thought might express some of my thoughts for you....
Remembrance
David Robert Brooks
When I am gone,
Please remember me;
as a heartfelt laugh, as a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
when my soul was on fire;
the light of love shining through my eyes…
Remember me when I was singing and seemed to know my way.
Remember always when we were together and time stood still.
Remember most not what I did,
or who I was...
Oh please remember me for what I always desired to be...
A smile on the face of God.
take care..
What a perky colorful Spring display. I happily got my hands on some old wood spools. I like using the empty ones for those little pieces of left over ribbons.
Thank you Christy! I agree...the colors are too pretty to hide!
Warmly,
Tracey
