I've used all milk bottles but and ball jars but not with the lids on.
Cute idea.

LOL Carol, you are so good!! I should be doing more of the same and using them for their original intentions (i.e. preserving food :)!! As it is, these are pretty side projects that take only a little time and less money but they do make the kitchen window sill look so fresh and pretty!
Hugs and love to you!

Hello DD!! I love your milk bottle idea!! The reason I used the lids was because the bulbs fell through without them. I just took out some of the old rusted lids that should never be used for canning, so it worked out well. :)

Wow, those are so cool!! I use my jars for storing homemade granola and things i buy in bulk, like baking soda. I also use them as candle holders for tea lights.

Hi SQ!! I love all of your great ideas...especially the candle holders for tea lights...this would be really cute for our summer picnics as the jar would protect the flames from blowing out (which is sometimes a problem). Thank you so much for sharing your ideas with us!

Love,
Tracey

I use all kinds of glass bottles and jars to make what I call Shipwrecked bottles. I wrap cement soaked fabric onto jars to make very cool new bottles, flower vases etc...

"FRUGAL LUXURIES: Simple Pleasures to Enhance Your Life and Comfort Your Soul" was written by Tracey McBride and published by Bantam Books, NY, in 1997. It was the first of its genre to synergize the elements of simplicity, frugality and gracious living.

After more than a decade, FRUGAL LUXURIES has never been out of print and is now more relevant than ever.
