Introducing Homespun Alchemist Manuela from...

The Pleasures of Homemaking

Today we're honored to highlight our long~time friend (and fellow Homespun Alchemist) Manuela who created and writes The Pleasures of Homemaking blog. In it she extends charming glimpses into her world of French~style lovely living...all with an eye toward frugality. I highly recommend reading it on a regular basis as she inspires action by way of her generously shared secrets for making something from (almost) nothing!

One of the many transformations she has manifest is to morph this...
into this!

Click HERE to see the full DIY (so simple, quick and easy)!

I found it to be pure magic and, of course, was very compelled to share it here...with all of you kind kindred spirits...where I know it'll be appreciated.

Oh, and a special thanks and appreciation sent out to you, Manuela, for being so generous with your ideas, time and images!!!

Love and good thoughts to all.

Warmly,

Tracey and Family

Very cool! Some ideas are so simple and I just never think of them. I love the synergy of creative people coming together. Very nice post!

Manuela is the BEST at making something elegant out of nothing, isn't she?

She constantly amazes me and I wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?". :-)

You are so right Brenda...she's turned it into a veritable art form! Like you, I wonder why that thought hadn't occurred to me! Wouldn't I just love to be at any yard sale she hosts!!!

I gave up a couple evenings to read all of Manuela's archives. So worth the time, my mind just raced ahead with inspiration. One of my favorite blogs!

Oh Terri...I'm with you in that guilty pleasure (I do the same thing on your blog too :)!!! You both have a similar spirit in that you inspire me to want to take action and stimulate my creativity! That being said, I believe I may be a blog addict in general...but that's another story for another time! LOL

I love seeing the home arts praised. They are so important to living a calm, pleasing life.

Tracey thank you so much for stopping by my blog a couple of weeks ago. I have held your philosophies close to my heart since first reading your book.

I am so grateful that I have "grown up" to realize that building a life is much more pleasurable than accumulating stuff.

Wow, high praise Kalanicut...thank you so much.

Yes, I agree, it's a pleasure to see (as you so perfectly put it) "the home arts praised"... they are so vital to the creation of a serene and happy life.

Thanks again for the kind thoughts.

"FRUGAL LUXURIES: Simple Pleasures to Enhance Your Life and Comfort Your Soul" was written by Tracey McBride and published by Bantam Books, NY, in 1997. It was the first of its genre to synergize the elements of simplicity, frugality and gracious living.

After more than a decade, FRUGAL LUXURIES has never been out of print and is now more relevant than ever.

"It's our hope that a new generation, faced with a teetering economy, will also find this information helpful and enlightening."
