Welcome...we're lucky to have you!!!
To live content with small means...to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion...to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich...to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly...to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart...to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, never hurry...in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious...grow up through the common...this is to be my symphony.
---William Henry Channing
Note: Words to live by. This poignant quote touches me more now than when I used it in my first book, Frugal Luxuries, Bantam Books, NY, NY, in 1997.

Hi Tracy;
I just wanted to tell you that I would love to come to one of your workshops. However, I live about 25 miles south of Cleveland, Ohio. Do you ever come out to the great lakes region to speak? Would love to hear you!! Love, Nana
Hi Nana!
Well, I haven't been to Cleveland for several years (I did the "Every Woman" convention...sponsored by the Plain Dealer...but I don't think they have those anymore:). I've been staying close to home the past few years tending to elderly relatives and the like. That being said, if something comes up and I'm in that neck of the woods I will definitely let you know! Thank you so much for asking and for wanting to come see me (a HUGE compliment). You are a doll.

Tracey

I just discovered one of your books in my library, and am enjoying it so far.
I must tell you that Number 6 is not always appreciated. I am sensitive to many fragrances, (as well as chemicals, medicines, etc.), and many people are quite insensitive to my problem. So encouraging the use of perfume may SPOIL a lovely day for people like me...
Jo Ann in VA
Dear Jo Ann,
Thanks so much for the note. You make an excellent point! I was just reading your note to my dad and he agreed completely. He always told me to wear perfume so discreetly that others could only smell it if you were bumping heads! What I meant regarding the perfume suggestion was an abbreviated/left~handed suggestion that we should smell fresh and clean. ;)
Thanks again for the reminder that there are those who do not appreciate/cannot tolerate fragrances.
Warmly,
Tracey

it really is this easy, isn't it?
You're right Dana...it only takes a bit of forethought...that old saying "remember to remember to think of good things"! So nice to see your name here. Hope all is going well with you and the lovely Daisy!
