Culling Frugal Luxuries...

under the trees

~~~~~~
Hello my dear friends...have you missed me as much as I've missed you???  My husband (Mike) has been off work since January of this year with a leg injury and my world has been turned (temporarily) upside down.  With so much going on (and sharing the computer ;) I found it necessary to edit my tasks of living a bit.  Thus the blog has been woefully silent as it was in the "subtract" list of my over~complicated life.  Happily...thanks to the miracle of healing as well as the wondrous little ipad Mike gave me for my birthday last month...things are slowly getting back to normal and I hope to be busy sharing and visiting much more frequently.  :)
One thing that I found easy to sneak in during my hiatus was bite~size pinning and playing every now and then on Pinterest.  In fact, a week or so ago I started a joint board titled "Culling Frugal Luxuries" where kindred spirits can freely pin their vision of what collecting and enjoying frugal luxuries looks like to them.  I do hope you are a part of it and if you're not, please visit and, if you'd like to join in please email me and I will happily add your name to the list!
Well my kind friends, I am off to bed.  Sending good thoughts and love to all, as always.  More soon.
Warmly,
Tracey and Family x0x
I'm glad things are on the mend for you! I have missed you here, but I sure understand needing to set priorities -- and an internet life must surely take second place (third place . . . last place) to living a real life.
Oh Diana, it's been a mixed bag of blessings to be sure! I want to tell you that I appreciate and agree with your philosophy about real life taking priority over the ethers (although it's sure fun inside here ;).
P.S. I loved your fig jam post. Made me kick myself for not appreciating the fig tree in our first house/yard many years ago! Pearls to swine, that!
Tracey, I have missed you. I just joined your Pinterest boards and look forward to browsing your good ideas.
So sorry about your husband. My husband has had 7 knee surgeries- so I can really imagine what life has been like at your home. I hope your husband heals quickly to a full recovery.
So so happy that you're back!!!
Sorry to hear about Mike's injury but I'm really happy to hear that he's recovered so well.
Happy belated birthday! How cool that you have an ipad. I was just looking at them at Best Buy over the weekend.
I'm not on Pinterest but I'll enjoy looking at everyone's pins. I just decided that at this time in my life I just don't want to spend too much time on the computer so no Facebook or Pinterest (or twitter). Blogging takes up enough of my time!
Anyway, so happy that you're back :)
You are so wise Manuela, as well as disciplined and Productive...with a capital P! Pinterest is a pleasure and takes little time to post (actually is a great place to store ideas for future reference) but it DOES take a lot of time once I get caught up browsing! The Ipad is wonderful for browsing, but I'm not sure I'm loving it as much as I thought I would. Seems, now that Mike's gone back to work last week, I'm back to using the computer much more. :) I think it's just a matter of getting used to moving around in it. I do love the camera feature...amazing! Plus the apps are many! It does need a case for protection as it feels fragile to use. It really is like a huge iphone sans the phone! Hahahah. I guess I'm saying my verdict is out on whether I really needed it. Although, Rosie's friend LOVES hers and sells a ton of stuff on ebay as the ipad app makes it sooo much easier to list. Perhaps I'll look into that in my quest to declutter my overstuffed house! But I digress. ;)
I'm off to get a cup of cafe' au lait (homemade). Thank you so much for stopping by my friend, it's always a happy day when I see your name.
Love,
Tracey
"FRUGAL LUXURIES: Simple Pleasures to Enhance Your Life and Comfort Your Soul" was written by Tracey McBride and published by Bantam Books, NY, in 1997. It was the first of its genre to synergize the elements of simplicity, frugality and gracious living.
After more than a decade, FRUGAL LUXURIES has never been out of print and is now more relevant than ever.
"It's our hope that a new generation, faced with a teetering economy, will also find this information helpful and enlightening."
