Hi Tracey!
It was so nice to hear from you! Thanks for stopping by!
I always enjoy visiting your blog! I would love to win your book!
One of my frugal luxuries is buying roses at a discount club store like BJ's or Costco. I can get 2 dozen for about $12 to $14. They usually last close to 2 weeks. They make me smile everyday. I put them into vintage pitchers of porcelain or silver...sometimes all together...sometimes I break them up and put them in several smaller vessels.
Happy holiday weekend!
;-D
This is my absolute favorite book (other than the Bible). It taught me how to live frugally and yet with luxury. Tracey again thanks for writing this awesome book.
One of my favorite luxuries is lace. I've collected it for years. I buy it a yard sales, thrift stores, etc. I sew it on my towels, glued some on my china cabinet, using it in my quilting and my daughter uses it in her sewing.
Tracey- Oh I do hope I win this book- promise you will sign it for me if I do!!!
One of my favorite frugal luxuries is sharing my home with others! It may not seem like that should be a luxury but God has given us such an awesome place in which to pamper and love on people. I do so enjoy the luxury of guests and wow have we had alot lately! Am getting ready for 7 who will be spending all next week here helping us put on 2 vacation Bible Schools!

One of my favorite frugal luxuries in working in my garden. I love sitting in the yard and seeing how much progress I've made during the day.

I stumbled upon a frugal luxury that I never would have thought of...the other day, a friend called me at work and wanted to go to lunch. I already had the lunch that I had brought from home ready to eat at my desk. She decided to grab a sandwich and come to the office and have lunch with me at my desk. It was cheap and very relaxing to have this private time where we didn't have the hustle and bustle of people and waiters and could just sit, have our simple lunches and visit undistracted. It was so nice, we have plans to do it again. Maybe not at my desk, but at a nearby park next time.
Hi Tracy,
I want to thank you for your visit today and that wonderful message you left me. I'm so glad to meet you and be able to get to know you through your writing.
My favorite frugal luxury is bringing in flowers from the garden and fillig every vase I have in the house. I truely believe that flowers nourish the soul, as the saying goes.
I'm so pleased to meet you.
Smiles,
June
Hi again, I want to appologize because I think I just misspelled your name.
Smiles,
June
LoL! No apology needed June! It's a common mistake, one my Dad (who named me) still does--after forty odd years :-).
Warmly,
Tracey
This is also one of my all time favorite books. (I also love the "Seasons" book.)
My favorite frugal luxury is definitely Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks in autumn. They have become so expensive but having one just once every three or four weeks is like a mini-vacation. :)
I found your blog via Dana's, Tracey, and what a beautiful one it is!
Downunder, (I'm in New Zealand,) it's supposed to be early autumn but the thermometer has been behaving as if it's winter for a couple of weeks. Since we have a brand new, eco-friendly standalone wood burner (a fire place with a lid, and not set inside a wall? An old-fashioned log burning stove, really,) the best frugal luxury has been to put a pot of soup on it and let it cook all day. On weekends I also put a large pot of hot chocolate with spices and let it simmer, making the whole house smell lovely.
Hi Tracy I love your site, and hear only good things about your book, although I have yet to get it :)
My favorite frugal luxury is one that I was out working in today, and that is fresh herbs from my garden. When I add them to my food I feel like I have spent far more on a meal than I do without them!! I am looking forward to all the fresh flavors of summer!!!! All frugal of course :D
Instead of going a few times a week to Starbucks, I now make my own lattes with my coffee/espresso machine. It's much cheaper and I use skim milk and sugar free hazelnut syrup so I don't feel guilty! Yummy! I am drinking one now that my hubby just made me.
I would love to win the book!
Frugal luxuries: Running in the rain. Yesterday I went for a run with my running group and it poured! It was really beautiful, being majestically caught in a downpour on a mild, spring day, with big fat raindrops splashing on our heads!
Other frugal luxuries: Last night I woke up in the night to find my kitten curled up in my arms. There are few things as soothing as having an animal snuggled tightly up against you!
Tracey,
I hope I am not too late to enter your drawing. I would love to have your book. :)
Blessings,
Gina
I hope I'm not too late as well! I love your books and read them again and again. They are such affirmation for the soul that beauty is all around us. So many gorgeous soul-feeding inspirations are just right there in front of us on any given ordinary day if we just open our eyes. I love how you are able to describe how simple touches to a lovingly prepared meal or to a corner of your home are food for the spirit.
"Food for the spirit" is something my mom and I talk about frequently. She is the one who taught me that even on the tightest budget, I need to have fresh flowers for my home as food for the soul. She is so, so right! Sometimes I've only been able to squeeze in budgetary room for a single beautiful fresh flower. Clippings from bushes in my yard fill in the empty space in my favorite old ironstone pitcher (once part of a washstand pitcher and bowl set) and set off that single blossom so that it shines as the star that it is.
Today's frugal luxury is doing the finishing sanding on a number of "found" items (thrift store and garage sale treasures) before I throw myself a spray paint party! Most of my items will be painted black, but a few may end up in white. I can't wait to see if the transformations I visualize will happen. And the best part is the creative flow that I feel when I'm invested in creating something prettier from forgotten and neglected items.
Blessings on your day!
Michelle
Tracey, I follow your blog because of your books. They are a great antidote to feeling deprived.
I have a lot of frugal luxuries, but the one I like most is to pick up mismatched china, silverware and crystal at garage sales and use it for nice candlelight dinners. The kids tease me about my candlelight dinners. They are more frequent in the cold winter months and cheer everyone up.
The up side of this is that it's real easy to put on a nice spread for Sunday dinner, a birthday, or holidays. My two girls really appreciate it. And, now they've left home, my husband isn't complaining about our candlelight dinners either! Much nicer than paying the prices at an expensive restaurant. And the atmosphere can't be beat!

A frugal luxury for me is sharing and receiving plants. A friend of mine and I are both avid gardeners. We've shared perennials with each other.
